Gina and Gilberto Carmo are the founders of Inspire Travel.

Originally from the state of Ohio in the United States, Gina has worked in the educational travel niche for nearly 25 years, previously in the role of travel planner, and for the past 18 years, as an incoming tour operator. She is a proud graduate of Ohio University. Gina first traveled to Brazil for work in 2003 and has lived in Rio de Janeiro since 2005. She worked for a Brazilian incoming tour operator from 2005 - 2008 and then launched Inspire Travel in January 2009. As the primary point of contact for clients, today Gina uses her unique skills to assist them in creating customized trips, through development to implementation. Gina is a proud member of the Educational Travel Consortium and plays an active part in their DEI Working Group. She is also on the Executive Board of the American Society of Rio de Janeiro.

Gilberto was born and raised in Rio and enjoys sharing all he can about his city and his country with visitors. An avid international traveler, he has an educational background in computer science and earned an MBA from the esteemed Fundação Getulio Vargas in Rio. Gilberto works on building relationships with partners throughout Brazil and conducting extensive research to offer unique experiences for our groups. He is also responsible for the financial aspects of the company.

Gina and Gilberto have traveled extensively throughout Brazil to experience first-hand the places they recommend to their clients.
